About Microsoft

Empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. That’s what inspires us, drives our work and pushes us to challenge the status quo every day. At Microsoft we also work to empower our employees so they can achieve more. We believe we should each find meaning in our work and we ensure employees have the freedom and the reach to help make a difference in the world.

We know where we’re going as a company and how we’ll get there. We are committed to reinvent productivity and business processes, build the intelligent cloud platform and create more personal computing. These three goals are interconnected, they’re bold—and they’re why we are always looking to bring even more brilliant and creative people to our team.

Deborah Frances-White

The Charisma Key

Deborah will speak from her experience as a stand-up comedian and show you how to own and calm a chaotic room, how to be powerful while being likable and draw people to them making them feel secure and important and how to conceal and calm their own anxiety. This seminar will give you a chance to try out some new, powerful behaviours and allow you to understand how you can always be a lion, even when you feel like a gazelle and why pilots are better at making their passengers feel safe than taxi drivers. At the end of the session you will know that you can always be in charge of your own emotional equilibrium, and that of others.

Deborah Frances-White is a comedian, writer and corporate speaker. Her BBC Radio 4 show Deborah Frances-White Rolls the Dice won the Writers Guild Award for best radio comedy and her podcast The Guilty Feminist has racked up over two million downloads in under a year. She is currently writing a sitcom for BBC1, her book Off the Mic was nominated for a 2016 Chortle Award and this year she was nominated for a First Woman Business Award for her work in Diversity and Inclusion.

Our Employee Community

At Microsoft, we believe that our continued success depends on the diverse skills, experiences, and backgrounds that our employees bring to the company. To help foster diversity and inclusion, Microsoft has a rich community of Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and Employee Networks (EN).

These organizations provide career development, support, networking opportunities, mentoring, community participation, product input, and assistance in activities that promote cultural awareness. Their programs include speaker series, scholarship programs, community service, development conferences, and heritage celebrations.

Microsoft's Vision

Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more.

Our Strategy

Maximize the business impact of global diversity and inclusion to empower our people, transform our culture and delight our customers.

Areas where we focus

Microsoft actively seeks to foster greater levels of diversity in our workforce and in our pipeline of future leaders. We are always looking for the best and brightest talent and pride ourselves on our individuality - inviting candidates to come as they are and do what they love. The common thread that attracts us to candidates is their passion for their work and the desire to make an impact in their careers, in the community, and on the world.

The Business of Inclusion

We strive to create an environment that helps Microsoft capitalize on the diversity of our people and the inclusion of ideas and solutions to meet the needs of our increasingly global and diverse customer base.
